Regardless of your opinions on the candidates for the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton deserves recognition for her bold public relations strategy during her election night party and throughout her presidential campaign.

Going back to the Democratic National Convention, Hilary Clinton made her debut by creating a video compilation the 43 men who have served as our nations president, at the end, her face appears breaking through shattering glass. The message was loud and clear, she is breaking the glass ceiling by being the first woman nominee.

According to an article published by The Huffington Post, Clinton stated “I can’t believe we just put the biggest crack in that glass ceiling yet. Thanks to you and to everyone who has fought so hard to make this possible. This is really your victory, this is really your night. And if there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say I may become the first women president, but one of you is next”

To end her campaign, Clinton held her election night party at the Javits Center in Manhattan. This large venue has a ceiling made entirely of glass. Hillary, expecting a win, made a bold PR move by hosting the party under a glass ceiling.

Hillary’s PR team created such a strong message by incorporating breaking the glass ceiling into her campaign. Whether you believe that sexism is still and issue in our world or not, Hillary took a stance on the issue and voiced her opinion in a strategic and symbolic way.
